I tend to prefer "Elvish" men, with long hair but minimal or no beards. Others prefer lots of facial hair as well. I think among the broader spectrum of long haired men these are two distict types. I think of them as Bears (beared longhairs) and Elves (beardless longhairs)

: Ha ha, very funny, Gordon, my friend! How about the neutral "beardless". Shaving is actually an interesting issue in ancient Greek homosexual culture, and the fact that Alexander's partner Haephestaion is also always depicted beardless is very significant. It shows that their relationship was egalitarian rather than the Athenian type which always paired a middle aged bearded top with a beardless young bottom. An Athenian who remained beardless into adulthood by the unnatural practice of shaving was choosing to remain a bottom (which was very non-conformist). But two Macedonian macho men, the same age, who had a very public love relationship, and who *both shaved* were showing rejection of dominance typing and saying they were both flippers. A rather non-conformist thing to do, but then if you're the ruler of the world you can afford to throw your weight around! GRIN
: PS HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A GREAT TIME AT THE BEAR CONFLAB IN DALLAS

: : Please use the less misleading term, either "pitifully beardless" or "facially castrated" ;-)
